    Residential - Renovation

Located in the heart of Auckland’s boutique suburb Mount Eden, this early 20th century cottage needed some love.
The character of the home was charming, but space was limited for the young family. Located in the heritage zone, the front facade of the home had to remain, but the clients loved the idea of playing on the old and creating something entirely new on the back of the house. The original entry / hallway now leads you down and into a new two story, open plan pavilion, offering more room to breathe and an open flow into the garden and outdoor spaces. Whilst built for function, the aesthetics to the renovation were equally as important. The sun soaked kitchen houses a uniquely swirled black leathered granite island bench top, surrounded by white handless 2 pot lacquer cabinetry. A hidden walk in scullery sits behind the kitchen with just a single pantry door giving the hint to the secret room. A sculptural plywood open-tread staircase sits off the kitchen and dining creating another wow factor to this magical renovation.
